Origin and Character

During post-fermentation, this tea developed Golden Flowers, the small golden colonies of Eurotium cristatum traditionally associated with Fu-style dark tea. Their presence contributes to the tea’s mellow character, rounded texture and gentle grain sweetness.

Time has allowed this compressed Anhua tea to settle into a smooth and rounded profile. The original earthy structure has softened, leaving layered grain sweetness, aged wood and subtle dried fruit.

It is a patient tea rather than an assertive one, revealing small shifts in texture and warmth across a longer gongfu session.

Aroma and Flavour

Aroma Aged wood, dried hay, warm grain and forest floor
Liquor Clear deep amber to reddish-brown
Flavour Mellow earth, sweet grain, light wood and dried fruit
Mouthfeel Rounded, silky and low in astringency
Finish Long, mellow and naturally sweet

✦ The Astraluna Perspective ✦

This aged Anhua tea rewards a slower pace. Its Golden Flowers, grain, wood and earth do not compete for attention; they settle together into a mellow, dependable rhythm. We chose it for the subtle shifts that appear over a longer session, where texture and warmth matter as much as flavour. It is a tea for returning to the table without expectation, allowing repetition itself to become part of the experience.
